Embracing Sustainability at Niton Preschool

Jayne Hill • October 22, 2024

At Niton Preschool, we believe that teaching our little ones about sustainability is crucial for their development and for the world they will inherit.

To support our commitment to fostering an eco-conscious environment, we have introduced a small weekly sustainability charge of £5. This contribution helps us cover essential consumables, art materials, and the waterproof clothing that allows our children to explore the great outdoors, rain or shine!

Why a Sustainability Charge?

Sustainability is at the heart of our educational philosophy. By implementing this charge, we can:

Enhance Learning Experiences: With the funds raised, we can purchase high-quality art materials that inspire creativity. From paints and papers to natural materials for hands-on projects, your contributions ensure our children have access to the best resources.

Promote Outdoor Play: Our preschool encourages exploration and learning outside the classroom. The sustainability charge helps us provide waterproof clothing, allowing children to engage with nature, regardless of the weather. This not only supports their physical development but also nurtures their appreciation for the environment.

Foster Eco-Friendly Practices: We are dedicated to teaching our children about sustainability. The funds will help us integrate eco-friendly practices into our daily activities. This includes using recycled materials for art projects and implementing nature-based learning experiences.

How Your Contribution Makes a Difference

The £5 weekly charge may seem small, but its impact is significant. Here’s how your support helps:

Artistic Expression: With quality art supplies, children can explore their creativity, develop fine motor skills, and learn about different textures and colors.

Nature Connection: Proper outdoor clothing allows for safe and comfortable exploration, encouraging children to connect with the environment and learn about the seasons.

Sustainable Habits: By incorporating sustainability into our daily routines, we’re teaching children valuable lessons about caring for the planet. They learn that even small actions can lead to a larger impact.

Thank You for Your Support!

We appreciate the trust and support of our parents in making Niton Preschool a nurturing and sustainable environment. Together, we can instill a love for nature, creativity, and responsibility in our children. If you have any questions about the sustainability charge or our eco-friendly initiatives, please feel free to reach out.

Let’s continue to work together to create a bright and sustainable future for our children!

Looking at different people’s cultures and festivals is a great way to teach children about the world around them. We encourage children to show respect for other people’s beliefs. We will be looking at the Hindu Festival of Light Diwali, Bonfire Night and of course Christmas.
